This vessel is powered by a reliable 50 hp Yanmar engine and is equipped with an in-mast furling mainsail and a 110% furling jib for easy sailing. The Raymarine navigation system ensures that the captain is well-equipped with radar, chartplotter, autopilot, and knot-depth-wind instruments. The Catalina 42 MKI began production in 1989 with 479 hulls, followed by the introduction of the MKII in 1995, starting with hull #480. A total of 1,022 Catalina 42s were built, with the MKII featuring numerous upgrades such as a more powerful engine, a wider modern transom with an expanded swim platform, additional storage compartments, and enhanced interior layouts.
