Introducing the 2000 Catalina 36 MkII – a pristine, turnkey cruiser that exemplifies pride of ownership. This impeccably maintained vessel is not only visually stunning but also in superb condition, ready to impress anyone in search of a comfortable coastal cruiser. Renowned for its exceptional sailing performance and spacious interior, the Catalina 36 MkII is among the brand's most celebrated designs. Its desirable wing-keel configuration, drawing about 4'5", makes it perfect for Southern California's cruising waters while ensuring stability and ease of handling. Equipped with a traditional mainsail and a roller-furling 150% genoa, this boat offers an adaptable and user-friendly sail plan, complemented by an included spinnaker for enhanced performance in lighter winds. Anchoring is a breeze with an electric windlass, approximately 94 feet of chain, and an additional 62 feet of rode. Powering this beauty is a Universal M35BC four-cylinder diesel engine with approximately 557 hours, paired with a fixed three-blade propeller, and complete maintenance records are available. The spacious cockpit is ideal for entertaining or shorthanded sailing, featuring updated canvas, a raised dodger, and comfortable new cushions for a protected helm area. The walk-through transom facilitates easy access to the dock or water. Below deck, the interior is bright, inviting, and exceptionally clean, showcasing Catalina's smartly designed two-stateroom layout. This includes a private forward cabin, a generously sized aft berth, a cozy salon, a fully-equipped galley, and an enclosed head. Thoughtful staging, Catalina rugs, and a new companionway door add to the polished ambiance. Highlights include: desirable wing-keel configuration, standard masthead-sloop rig, traditional mainsail, roller-furling 150% genoa, included spinnaker, Universal M35BC diesel engine (approximately 557 hours), fixed three-blade propeller, electric anchor windlass, approximately 94' of anchor chain plus 62' of rode, new canvas and raised dodger configuration, new cockpit cushions, refinished companionway door, recently installed autopilot (commissioning/calibration required), new microwave, new water tank, new freshwater pump, two private staterooms, spacious salon with excellent headroom, fully equipped galley, and an efficient stove and oven. With maintenance records, manuals, guides, and receipts available, this Catalina 36 MkII stands out from the typical vessels of its age. It offers the space and comfort of a larger cruiser while remaining manageable for couples or small families. If you're looking for a Catalina 36 that feels fresh, uncluttered, and well-cared-for, this is the one to see.
