The Catalina 36 MkII retains all the essential features that made its predecessor the most beloved 36-foot sailboat globally. With a well-balanced moderate displacement hull, the Mark II offers excellent tracking and performance across various sailing conditions. Its deck showcases a traditional trunk cabin design that is both comfortable and practical. Inside, the main cabin and galley have been thoughtfully designed with attention to detail. The galley features a functional 'U' shape with composite countertops, and sinks positioned for optimal drainage while underway. A gimballed stainless steel LPG stove with an oven comes standard. The main cabin can be configured with either a dinette or a classic table arrangement, and the starboard seating can transform into a settee or berth with the available cushions. Additionally, there’s an entertainment center that can accommodate a stereo and a concealed TV. The warmth and durability of the varnished interior teak create an inviting atmosphere. On deck, stainless steel handrails and anodized spars minimize maintenance and enhance the sailing experience. The re-engineered mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems improve reliability and ease of access, particularly with excellent engine access via a removable insulated enclosure. The hull is robust, constructed from hand-laminated solid fiberglass, and the keel is made of lead with integrated stainless steel bolts. The mast is securely stepped through the deck onto the keel, featuring inline spreaders and fore-and-aft lower shrouds for a sturdy and easily tunable setup.
