The Catalina 30, with over 6,400 hulls built, is one of the most beloved and widely produced sailboats in history. Its impact on the sailing community is further enhanced by a vibrant National Catalina network. The Pau Hana was initially based in Long Beach, CA, where she sailed as far north as Alaska and south to Mexico. In 2002, she was relocated to Lake Pleasant, AZ, where she was moored at Pleasant Harbor until 2019, when she moved to her current dock at Scorpion Bay. Since 2017, her fifth and current owner has meticulously maintained and cared for her. Pau Hana features the original Universal 5411 diesel engine, which was rebuilt in 2017. The salon, berth, and cockpit were reupholstered in 2018, and the standard rigging and sails were refitted by Precision Sails in 2019. A new prop shaft and cutlass bearing were installed in 2026, and she recently underwent a haulout for shaft work. In 2020, an extensive overhaul was performed on her plumbing, electrical systems, brightwork, salon and cockpit flooring, deck, and hull. Maintenance logs since 2017 are available for review.
