The Catalina 27, designed by Frank Butler, is an iconic American sailboat that has captivated sailors since its production began in 1971, lasting until 1991 with over 6,000 hulls built. Originally crafted as a coastal cruiser-racer, many have even embarked on circumnavigations. In 1993, the Catalina 270 was introduced, enhancing performance and comfort for active sailing families. This updated model features a larger design, providing extra space and stability, along with a modern interior that boasts improved amenities, ample storage, and a more efficient sail plan for superior sailing performance. The Catalina 270 saw over 1,000 units built before its production ended in 2006. Now, "Windfall" is seeking a new captain to take charge. Her current owner has lovingly maintained her for 24 years. She is equipped with a double spreader sloop rig, featuring a standard full batten mainsail and furling jib, powered by an 18 hp Perkins diesel engine. Her instrumentation includes B&G knot, depth, and wind gauges. Inside, she offers an open V-berth forward and an athwartship double berth stateroom aft, complemented by a galley and spacious salon.
