Boat Description

Commissioned as Hull 132C "Lisa June III" on May 27, 1964, COCONUT is the second of four Burger yachts created for a loyal customer. This 63-foot Flush Deck Cruiser embodies the essence of a true Gentleman’s Yacht, showcasing stunning design elements, varnished handrails, and a robust aluminum construction that ensures she turns heads wherever she goes. Having spent her early years cruising the beautiful Florida coastline and Caribbean waters, she underwent a comprehensive restoration by Jackson Boatworks in 2000, costing over $1,000,000, to return her to her original 1964 splendor. In 2017, her current owner further refit her to maintain her elegance and functionality. With three staterooms, two heads, and additional Crew Quarters, COCONUT promises seamless adventures, whether navigating the intracoastal, traversing the Gulf of America, or embarking on the Great Loop. This yacht is a must-see for any discerning owner who appreciates a vessel with an illustrious pedigree. The story of Burger Boats begins with Simon and Margaretta Brauburger, who emigrated from Germany to the United States with their five children. They settled in New York before moving to Milwaukee, where Henry, their youngest son, began his shipbuilding career. In 1863, he founded the H. Burger Shipyard in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, quickly gaining a reputation for crafting high-quality vessels. Today, Burger produces various yacht models, including the renowned Burger 180' Motor Yacht and Burger 66 Motor Yacht concept. Designed by the esteemed Sparkman & Stephens, known for creating some of the world’s most celebrated yachts, COCONUT was originally named Black Gold and later renamed Lady J by country music star Alan Jackson. After Jackson acquired the yacht in 2000, she was meticulously restored and enjoyed many memorable cruises. In 2008, she became the property of Al Thomas, who maintained her in pristine condition in a covered freshwater slip. Following her purchase by the current owners in 2016, COCONUT underwent a remarkable interior refit and addressed cosmetic imperfections, ensuring she remains a stunning vessel. Now based in Stuart, FL, COCONUT offers a luxurious experience for family and guests as they explore the intracoastal waterways. She is not just a boat but a living piece of history, representing an era where yachts were crafted to inspire and endure. With her flush deck design, solid construction, and rich background, COCONUT is a rare gem among classic yachts, effortlessly commanding admiration whether gliding through the water or docked at exclusive marinas. This floating masterpiece is ready for her next chapter, and you could be the one to write it.
