Introducing the 1973 Allied Mistress 39, designed by Arthur Edmunds, Jr., this ketch-rigged center cockpit vessel is perfect for cruising enthusiasts seeking comfort, privacy, and ease of handling. With a long keel and shallow draft, combined with an impressive 700 sq. ft. sail area, she is ideal for island hopping and relaxed sailing. The sail area can be quickly reduced by dropping the main sail to operate under the working jib and mizzen, making her manageable for smaller crews. Inside, comfort meets privacy with an aft owner's cabin featuring an enclosed head, shower, generous hanging locker, and built-in dresser. The forward cabin comfortably accommodates two with similar amenities. The midship area boasts a well-equipped galley and a convertible dinette that sleeps two. A smartly designed passageway beneath the starboard cockpit links the owner's cabin to the midship area, complete with a chart table, workbench, and oilskin locker. Access to the engine compartment is a breeze with dual doors in the passage providing easy reach to all components. The compact diesel engine leaves room for a generator and other auxiliary equipment. With an 80-gallon fuel tank and a 160-gallon water tank, she offers excellent cruising range. Enjoy wheel steering in the spacious midship cockpit and ample storage on deck with seat lockers. This vessel has successfully completed two North Atlantic passages and navigated through Europe from Holland to the Mediterranean, as well as cruising the Great Lakes, Georgian Bay, Chesapeake Bay, Florida Keys, Bermuda, the Azores, the Canary Islands, and the Caribbean.
