Maggie B, a stunning vessel crafted by the renowned naval architect William Garden and built by Jacobs Brothers in 1961 on Lake Union, has a rich history. Originally named Tyee, she served Weyerhaeuser on the Snohomish River before becoming Chippewa, a log patrol boat operated by John Magnuson in south Puget Sound. Since 1975, her current owners have cherished family cruises across the Puget Sound, the San Juans, Western Canada, and even as far as Alaska. Maggie B has been a proud participant in The Harbor Days Festival in Olympia, WA since 1983, where she has made 18 appearances and clinched several victories in the small tug class races, including being the featured boat in 2015. A binder showcasing her wins along with numerous photographs is available for viewing during showings. Additionally, Maggie B is featured in the book 'Tugs at the Capital City II', which is also on board for guests to explore. Recent upgrades and projects completed between 2020 and 2025 include a rebuilt engine, new oak frames, bow hull planks, a refreshed cabin top with plywood and fiberglass, a new Dickinson 'Bristol' diesel galley range and heater, a Garmin GPSMap XSV chartplotter, and a complete overhaul of electrical systems. The boat has been meticulously maintained by her family, who have invested significantly in her upkeep over the past five years, securing her bright future.
