**History of Matthews Yachts** Established in 1890 in Ohio, the Matthews Boat Company produced over 1,000 boats and yachts, many of which served as minesweepers for the U.S. Navy. The company remained operational until 1975, during which time they transitioned from wooden construction to fiberglass. Collaborating with Halmatic LTD from Great Britain, they sourced robust hulls known for their durability, capable of withstanding machine gun fire, typically used for patrol boats and commercial vessels. The 56 Voyager model features a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull from Halmatic, while the decks and deckhouse showcase Matthews' traditional craftsmanship, combining wood with fiberglass cloth for enhanced durability. **COMMENTS** Originally built as “STROLLER,” the vessel was later renamed “LADY HAWK,” then “JOY SEA,” before its current owner rebranded it as “MY ALIBI” after purchasing it in January 2017.
