Going back 30 years, Hotwoods manufactured the very first pontoon boat, like everyone else, we only had 1 float on each side to carry the craft.

After our first voyage on the lake it was without question, a boat this size will not give the customer what they want, or need for stability using a single float on each side, or just 2 floats total under the deck.

We went back to design and decided to create the very first 4 pontoon style boat that has ever been made in this size.

During testing of that very first unit, we realized we had exactly what we needed, to give the customer what they would want.

Another area we wanted to give the customer the best we could, is in the thickness of our pontoon material. We manufacture all our models floats with .090' aluminum, the heaviest in the industry, used on any boat this size. With the thicker logs we then went to .100' on the nose cones and the rear end caps. By stepping up to this thickness of aluminum on the floats and cones, we can guarantee you many years of leak free pontoons while enjoying your time on the water.
